Dream to Reality

Mid October I went with the usual group of writers to Onjuku for a Writer's Workshop/Retreat. There were so many tips and tricks that I learnt in that two day and there were also so many fears and phobia that I concurred that weekend.

I would only be sharing the writing exercises and the prompts in this blog.

The moderator gave us a phrase and we were free to write about anything that we wanted to. Time given to write was 10 minutes.
The prompt was : "She went to the ocean and it moved her"

She had always been a little OCD. Not by choice, but she had always been the way she is all her life. Unsure. Scared. Tempted to do but too afraid to try new things. Too comfortable with the shiny toilet bowls of her own studio apartment. The sterile smell of rubbing alcohol, always clean and pristine.

The feel of sand on her feet for the first time in 25 years changed that. Her mind was going nuts imaging the germs seeping through her pores. Yet her skin loved the gentle caress of the sand, brushing against them softly. The salty smell of the ocean tingles her brain, waking up sensation she had never knew she had. Emotion that she never thought she could have. A view she will never forget.
