Angel of Death

For this exercise we were given 11 prompts which can be viewed by clicking here.

The rules were:
move between prompts
spend 10 minutes on each prompt
use all 5 or even 6 senses for each essay
Prompt: "Write about light or shadow or both."

Buried motionless under the sand with only holes for his lungs to get air, he knew he needed saving. He wanted to be saved. In a way, he was the one that got himself into that predicament. Yet he wanted, he needed, he begged to be saved by someone, anyone.

A soft strong hand pulled him out of the sand. As he took a deep reviving breath, he began to realise one final thing. What was to be of him. Who will he be. What past shall he carry. 

She was strong and gentle yet she was futile. The heat of her skin burned his. Her volatile voice scorched the smallest of his vein as she whispered the words of endless pain, licking his lobes in vain.

he could have been happy, he could have had anything in life. Yet, he tried to end it. Just because of the bumps and scars on enveloping his skin. 


She was no angel. She was the devil that was going to claim his soul. The scent of ashes registered in his mind as he realised the he was a little too late. He had been taking his life for granted all these while. She was an angel. An angel of death.
